Agreement Terms

This Agreement contains all terms between you and Netzero Solar Inc. (“The Company”). Any future changes must be agreed to in writing and will form a new Agreement.

Estimates & Assumptions

Pricing and projected savings are based on information provided to our team.
If a full site assessment has not yet been completed, pricing is an estimate and may change.
Projected savings depend on utility rates and energy usage, Product Warranties

Product warranties are provided directly by the manufacturer.

Workmanship Warranty

Installation workmanship is covered separately by The Company under the terms listed in Section 9.

Insurance

Many homeowner insurance policies already include coverage for rooftop solar PV systems and battery backup equipment as part of the home’s permanent fixtures. However, coverage can vary between providers, and it is the homeowner’s responsibility to confirm policy details before installation.

We recommend contacting your insurance provider in advance to verify that your policy includes appropriate protection for solar arrays, mounting hardware, inverters, and any battery storage components. Any updates or adjustments to coverage must be arranged directly with your insurer.

Ownership of Incentives

You retain ownership of all applicable energy credits, rebates, and incentives.

1.Scope of Work

The Company agrees to provide a complete solar photovoltaic (PV) system installation, including:

  • Supply of all required materials and equipment
  • Professional installation and labour
  • Electrical permitting and coordination of inspections
  • Commissioning and energization of the system
  • System features and extras explicitly listed in the Customer’s Proposal

Only the work and equipment listed in the Signed Contract are included.
Any additional work requested will be billed separately.

2. Customer Responsibilities

The Customer:

  • Confirms legal authority to install a solar system at the property
  • Provides reasonable access to the site for installation and inspections
  • Confirms the roof and structure are suitable for installation
  • Agrees to provide internet access for monitoring (if applicable)

The Company may access the property for up to 90 days after completion to finalize inspections and commissioning, scheduled reasonably with the Customer.

3. Pricing & Payment Terms

The Customer agrees to pay the total system price as stated in the Proposal.

Payment Structure

  • Deposits are applied toward the final contract price
  • Balance is due upon the completion of the installation, before full commissioning is able to be completed. The signed contract details agreed upon holdbacks.

4. Ownership of Equipment

All equipment remains the property of The Company until:

  1. Full payment is received, and
  2. The system is commissioned 

Until transfer, The Company retains the right to disable or recover the system in the case of non-payment.

5. Changes & Additional Work

Any change to scope or equipment must be agreed to in writing outside of these terms and conditions outlined below. Additional work requested after installation begins may be billed at time-and-materials rates or quoted separately.

Equipment Substitutions & Design Adjustments

Due to manufacturer availability, supply chain variability, or conditions discovered during installation, The Company may substitute equipment, adjust component placement, or modify the system design when required to complete the project safely and within code.

  • Substitutions will be of equal or higher quality and system size, based on the best available components at the time whenever possible, The Company will aim to maintain or improve total expected system output rather than reduce it. However, total system energy output may vary by up to 10% if module types or equipment needs to be changed.
  • System design may be adjusted due to structural constraints, electrical requirements, or manufacturer specifications identified during installation.
  • Any significant change outside of these limits will be discussed with the customer for approval.

These adjustments are intended to ensure the system performs reliably, meets regulatory requirements, and can be installed safely under real-world site conditions.

6. Cancellation

By The Company

If site conditions materially differ from initial assumptions or conditions change prior to installation, The Company may issue a revised proposal.
The Customer may accept or decline. If declined, the Agreement terminates with no penalty.

By The Customer

If cancelled after materials have been ordered or project mobilization has begun, a restocking or administration fee of up to 15% of project value may apply.

7. Failure to Pay

Failure to pay under this Agreement constitutes breach.

In case of non-payment, The Company may:

  • Suspend or disable system operation
  • Retrieve system equipment
  • Pursue legal action and damages
  • Notify utility providers of system status

     

The Customer is responsible for all breach-related costs and outstanding balances up to 15% of project value, plus legal costs.

8. Roof and Structural Condition

The Customer confirms the roof is in suitable condition for installation.

Roof-Related Workmanship Coverage

Workmanship warranty is valid for 25 years or the remaining roof life, whichever is shorter.

If the Customer elects to re-roof before installation, The Company will assist in coordination.
Any roofing contractors recommended by The Company operate independently.

9. Warranties

Workmanship Warranty

The Company provides a 25-year workmanship warranty beginning at system commissioning.  See Workmanship Warranty ( add link) for full details.

Product Warranties

Manufacturers provide separate warranties for equipment.
Manufacturer warranty coverage applies to product defects only.

10. Monitoring & Communications

Monitoring is provided by the equipment manufacturer.

The Company is not responsible for monitoring interruptions caused by:

  • Internet or cellular issues
  • Customer equipment interference
  • Utility or third-party outages 

The Customer is responsible for removing any interfering devices if monitoring is disrupted.
Service work to re-establish communication will be billed at standard service rates.

11. Permits, Licensing & Regulatory Compliance

The Company will:

  • Perform all electrical work under a valid British Columbia contractor licence
  • Obtain necessary permits
  • Schedule and coordinate inspections
  • Install the system to comply with applicable electrical and building codes

12. Insurance (Company Insurance)

The Company maintains Commercial General Liability insurance.
A certificate of insurance may be requested by the Customer.

13. Marketing Use

The Company may photograph or record installation work for marketing and documentation purposes.
Customer identity will not be disclosed without written consent.

If the Customer does not wish photos to be used, they may opt out in writing.

14. Force Majeure

The Company is not liable for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters
  • Supply chain disruptions
  • Utility delays

     

Public emergencies

15. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.
Any disputes shall be resolved in BC jurisdiction.

16. Entire Agreement

This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between both parties and supersedes all prior representations or communications unless expressly incorporated in writing.

Final Authority
